Organ Trio Genre - The style and genre originated in the post-bop era where Blues was very much up front in the sound of Jazz organ trios, especially with trio that's included guitar. Then came Wes Montgomery and Jimmy Smith fusing Jazz elements and stretching the Blues. Also, the nature of the organ was mainly in Churches at the time so the gospel and soul sound were and are always present. The Hammond Organ plays Bass using both the left hand and a row of foot pedals while the right hand plays chords, solos or holds long notes to build the suspense! The Guitar plays a small role in accompanying the organ during organ solos, but then takes on a role of solo improvisation that seems to be unique to each guitarist.
The Drums serve to keep a steady swinging beat with touches of Funk and Blues to keep the Groove locked in while also expanding into percussion sounds and energetic solos that usually trade with the band often as drums are a large part of the soundscape in the trio setting.
~The overall sound is unlike any other and serves to uplift and Inspire audiences with a little something for Everyone! The sound of the Organ is unlike anything else!
~From familiar Cover Tunes to Original compositions by way of Jazz and Fusion Standards, this show is an unforgettable experience!
